CBR Theory Exam: Additional Exam Material on Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
The Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen (CBR) has announced that driver assistance systems (ADAS) will play a bigger role in the car theory exam. In upcoming theory exams the CBR will ask more targeted questions on this topic. Good news: the Zielaan theory course and practice exams already cover all of this material in full!
What is changing at the CBR?
The CBR tests driver assistance systems (ADAS) as a mandatory part of the car theory exam. Whereas earlier questions mainly focused on dashboard symbols and eco-friendly driving, upcoming exam questions put explicitly more focus on the desired driving behaviour in relation to controlling driver assistance systems.

- Tested in the theory exam: the CBR actively asks about driver assistance systems (ADAS) in the car theory exam.
- Focus on driving behaviour and control: the exam questions cover the right driving behaviour and control of driver assistance systems according to the official Rijprocedure B (Introduction, Chapter 1 and Chapter 2).
- Number of exam questions stays the same: the exam still consists of 50 questions that count towards the result and 2 test questions.
- Up-to-date preparation: the CBR advises candidates to make sure they use current study material that covers these topics.
