What is the CBR car theory exam?
The CBR (Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen) is the official organisation that runs theory and practical driving exams in the Netherlands. Before you can take the practical test, you must first pass the theory exam.

How long is a theory certificate valid?
A theory certificate is valid for 1.5 years from the date you pass. You must also pass your practical test within that period, otherwise the certificate expires and you have to take the theory exam again.
May you use aids during the CBR exam?
No. At the CBR location you may not use a phone, notes or other aids. The only thing you need is a valid ID (passport, ID card or driving licence from another country).
How quickly do you get the result?
You see the result of your CBR theory exam on screen straight after the exam. You also receive an email with the official confirmation. If you pass, you get proof that you can use to book your practical test.
What if you fail the CBR theory exam?
