“Speed limit”
What you need to know
- The sign comes before the default speed limits, such as 50 km/h in a built-up area. art. 20 and 63
- Does the sign show a higher speed than applies to your vehicle? Then the lowest applies. A truck, for example, may not go faster than 80 km/h, even if the sign says 100. art. 22 and 63b
- Do a sign beside the road and a matrix sign above the road both show a speed limit? Then the lowest applies. If the roadside sign says 100 and the sign above your lane says 70, your maximum is 70. art. 63b
